Still in its original location and on the National Register of Historic Places is the 1906 Bartholomew Murphy carousel in Carousel Gardens Amusement Park within New Orleans City Park. It is a three-row carousel with thirty jumpers, twenty-one standers, three menagerie animals (one each of giraffe, lion and camel) and two chariots. The platform has figures carved by Murphy, Carmel and Looff.

Carousel rides are $4.00!

The Carousel Gardens Amusement Park offers a variety of rides, and there are many other attractions including a botanical garden within New Orleans City Park.
